On the right side, there is a minimalist, abstract graphic symbol in the form of an open circle, composed of several intersecting, dynamic black arcs. The graphic identifies a brand that offers professional coaching and mentoring services, delivered on-site in Poznań and online. The name itself, 'Towards You', along with the signet representing openness, perfectly reflects the company's mission: a highly individualized approach to the client, accompanying them through change, and the process of discovering internal potential, self-awareness, and talents using tools such as the Gallup Institute assessments or the MTQ diagnosis.

Executive Coaching for Managers: why you don't have to face pressure alone?

Executive Coaching 1:1 is a strategic and confidential partnership for managers and leaders. It allows for the development of assertiveness, coping with pressure from above and below the structure, effectively transitioning from operational actions to strategic thinking and discussing difficulties in a safe atmosphere.

The myth of power and calm in management

In the corporate world, it often seems that when an employee is promoted to management, they automatically gain unlimited resources, power and calm. The truth that I experience during coaching collaboration with my clients is quite different. Leaders at this level rarely have calm and are often caught in the midst of tremendous pressure. I experienced this myself during the time I managed teams.

The "corporate vise" syndrome - what is it really?

Managers often find themselves in a difficult and specific position, sometimes referred to as the corporate vise.

It is related to the presence of two sides:

  • above: management expects the achievement of KPIs, implementation of changes and cost optimization, often without an appropriate budget

  • below: people who expect support, clear communication, motivation and need "protection from the chaos coming from above"; plus emerging conflicts within the team, staffing shortages and expectations

Who can you talk to honestly about your challenges? If you take them to your team, you might lose the image of stable support, which can cause anxiety. If you share them with your superior, you risk being labeled as someone who "is not coping." As a result, you face your stress, challenges and dilemmas completely alone. This is a straightforward path to burnout.

What is Executive Coaching 1:1 and why is it effective?

Executive Coaching is a completely different category of work than standard management training. The role of a coach is not to teach you your craft, as you are the expert in your field.

Coaching is a strategic partnership. The coach is a kind of "safe wall" from which you can bounce your strategies, thoughts, and fears. It is a collaborative partnership based on complete confidentiality, during which the manager can take off their corporate armor, take a deep breath and without judgment, express what they really think and feel.

The 5 most common areas of work with my clients during Executive Coaching sessions

During the sessions, we work on, among other things:

  • managing upwards and assertiveness - protecting the team from unrealistic expectations, setting boundaries, or assertively negotiating goals

  • confronting feedback from the team - noticing and acknowledging one's own communication or management errors allows for avoiding more serious long-term issues such as increased turnover

  • effective delegation - we move away from micromanagement, handing control over to the team, thus empowering them and the coachee gains time for strategic work

  • being authentic based on natural potential (e.g., Gallup study) - we analyze your profile and check how you can manage people in accordance with yourself and utilizing your natural predispositions

  • leadership effectiveness (e.g., ILM72) - you get to know your style better and we check what you should work on to ensure your style translates into effectiveness in achieving goals, managing the team, or collaborating with other departments

Why is the 1:1 format for leaders an absolute necessity?

Group training is great for learning new tools or strengthening team unity, however, challenges at the director and managerial level require intimacy.

Additionally, training is often a one-time event. Coaching is a process. You develop at your own pace, experiment between sessions and if you wish, share your insights from those experiments with the coach during subsequent sessions and modify or reinforce what you have already tried. The coach accompanies you in your process in a spirit of full acceptance and openness to your needs.

1:1 collaboration guarantees one hundred percent confidentiality. It is the only place where you can openly express frustration with decisions from "above," admit to imposter syndrome, complain about a difficult employee, or simply say that the situation is overwhelming you, knowing that it will never leave the walls of the office.

Utilizing coaching is the highest expression of business maturity. The best athletes in the world have their coaches not because they are weak, but because they want to stay at the top without compromising their health.

Take a step towards wise leadership.

Being a manager is a huge source of satisfaction, but also a tremendous drain on energy. You don’t have to shoulder all that pressure alone. Sometimes, just one hour of an honest, deep conversation can untangle a problem you’ve been grappling with for the entire quarter and restore a sense of purpose in what you do.

If you feel like you’re starting to run out of air in the corporate vise and need a trusted partner for intellectual sparring, now is the best time to take a step forward. Take care of yourself so that you can wisely take care of your team.
