Gallup's talents (CliftonStrengths) are 34 natural patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving that can be productively applied in life and business. They are divided into 4 main domains: Executing, Influencing, Relationship Building, and Strategic Thinking. Knowing your talents allows you to focus on developing your strengths instead of wasting energy on "fixing" weaknesses.
In daily coaching practice, I often hear the question: "Can you briefly tell me what all these talents are?" The answer is yes, but it's worth remembering that behind this list lies something much deeper than just a set of names. It's a language for describing how you naturally think, act, and build relationships, how you naturally think, act, and build relationships.
In Gallup's methodology, it's not about what you are "good at" according to the world's standards or others' expectations. It's about identifying this:
Each of us has all 34 talents, but arranged in a unique configuration (at varying intensities). In developmental practice, the most important are those in the top ten, as they form the foundation of your potential.
To facilitate understanding and management of talents, they have been divided into four main areas of action. The table below illustrates how the individual domains complement each other in a team and in individual action.
| Domain Main role and application |
|
| Executing They help turn ideas into concrete actions. They allow you to bring topics to completion.
|
|
| Influencing They allow you to voice your opinion, persuade others, step out into the world, and exert influence.
|
|
| Relationship Building They are responsible for creating bonds, collaboration, and building trust within a group.
|
|
| Strategic Thinking They help analyze information, plan long-term, and make accurate decisions. |
|
Below you will find all 34 talents assigned to their respective domains, along with their English equivalents.
People with strong talents in this domain are those who "deliver" topics to completion.
This is about marking your presence and pulling others along with you.
The foundation of teamwork and trust.
The area of analysis, reflection, and planning.
In the developmental process, I see very clearly that simply knowing the names of talents from the report is just the beginning. True transformation begins when you start to understand them deeply and consciously utilize them. What do you gain?
1. You stop "fixing" yourself, and instead of focusing on your shortcomings, you invest energy in developing what already works great for you naturally.
2. You better understand yourself, and your automatic reactions and decisions cease to be random, becoming clear and logical to you.
3. You build authentic self-confidence, and you know where you stand because you know your natural resources and can rely on them.
4. You collaborate better with others, and you begin to see differences between people as a valuable resource rather than a communication problem.
Remember, talents are not boxes, but a dynamic system that always works in connection.
The better you understand the map of your potential, the easier it is to make decisions, build a satisfying career, and develop and strengthen your mental resilience. And what is most important in all this? You start to act in alignment with yourself, which is always the shortest path to effectiveness.
If you are wondering what your natural strengths are and how to turn them into success as a leader, employee, or in your personal life, schedule a session and discuss your CliftonStrengths report.
As an ICF accredited coach and a certified coach from the Gallup Institute, I work with managers, business teams, and individual clients. During the meeting, we will analyze your results, identify talents in practice, and develop specific tips on how to use them in your daily life.
